Team Canada took their first loss at the BKT World Men's Curling Championship at the Temple Gardens Centre yesterday afternoon, dropping a 6-5 extra-end decision to the undefeated Team Scotland.
Team Canada Skip Brad Jacobs said there was a bit of difficulty with the ice.
"We saw a little bit more curl out there - which is really nice by the way - it's been pretty straight and fast, and we saw a little bit more curl. We also saw the brooms doing a little more work out there, especially on helping the rocks curl." Jacobs said.
"We'll learn from that, we didn't have the greatest first five, but we had a really strong second half."
There were four games in the NHL last night with just one Canadian team in action. The Calgary Flames earned two points with a 3-2 shootout win over Colorado. The Flames now within 5 points of the final wildcard playoff spot in the Western Conference.
The Toronto Blue Jays improved to 3 and 2 with a 5-2 win over the Washington Nationals. Those same two teams go at it again tonight at 5 o'clock.
And the Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed National offensive lineman Logan Ferland to a two-year contract extension, taking his deal through the 2027 season. Ferland is the reigning West Division Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman.
