As of Monday, the Alberta Pound and Rescue Centre’s (APARC) Airdrie location officially closed its doors.

The City of Airdrie did not renew its contract with APARC as, according to them, they are shifting to a new service model (yet to be announced).

APARC Airdrie took to social media to say thank you one final time to the community for their support over the past five years.

They also gave a special thanks to everyone who adopted a pet from them.

The City of Airdrie took to social media to share that if you now find a lost dog or cat in Airdrie, you will need to contact Airdrie Municipal Enforcement. They can be reached on their 24-hour complaint line at 403-948-8888 for assistance.

You can bring a cat to Tails to Tell during regular business hours at 1017 Hammond Ave., Crossfield, if you find one and want to transport it to a shelter yourself. They are prepared to support and care for cats who have been found.

Tails to Tell will receive financial assistance from the City of Airdrie.

According to the City, there will be minimal disruption throughout this transition.
