Calgary Stampede celebrates nomination for fair and rodeo of the year

The self-proclaimed "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" has been nominated for an Academy of Country Music award.

According to the Stampede, the nomination is for fair and rodeo of the year.

"As the only Canadian nominee in this category, this recognition is a true testament to the incredible performers, guests and community who make the Stampede an unforgettable experience every year," The organization said in a statement.

"We couldn’t have done it without you, and we can’t wait to keep celebrating country music together."

Winners will be announced on May 8.
