Playoff lacrosse is coming back to Saskatchewan!

Austin Shanks scored six goals and Frank Scigliano made 30 saves as the Saskatchewan Rush defeated the Colorado Mammoth 17-12 Saturday night in Saskatoon.

The win was one of the final pieces put in place for the Rush to clinch a home playoff berth. Rush broadcaster Cody Janzen says having home-floor advantage is crucial.

“Playoffs are crazy. It’s a one-and-done in round one. So, if you’ve got to add on extra travel, if you've got to go to hostile territory, unfamiliar arenas, stuff like that, that could really play with you. In such a short turnaround, having that home playoff game locked up is massive.”

The Saskatchewan Rush are currently tied for first place in the NLL with the Buffalo Bandits.

The Rush are back in action Friday night when they host their biggest rivals, the Calgary Roughnecks. It’s also Redneck Night at SaskTel Centre, and Rush players Mike Triolo and Frank Scigliano will be buying the first 2,000 beverages for fans. The mechanical bull will also make an appearance, and a petting zoo will be set up on the concourse as well.
