So, the last few days(well, beyond the last few, but the last few WORKING days) I've been home sick. But this always begs the question; What can you actually DO on a sick day?
Here's what I mean. Me and my wife have 3 kids. We need groceries, make lunches, kids have activities they take part in on a daily basis that they need to go to and from. My wife also works, so when there is a free parent, one person has to do the running around. But, if I'm sick, should I? Obviously, if you are sick you shouldn't make a habit of going out in public. But if you need food, or need to run kids to school, to events, etc, it's somewhat tough to avoid.
This has always been my dilemma. If I take a sick day, it's not because I sneezed too hard, or worst case, just wanted an extra day off. I am absolutely ill. Yet, doing the things that, as an adult, you have to do, I always have the fear that 'someone is going to see me' and suddenly blow my cover that I'm actually the picture of health because I was seen driving. It's honestly completely irrational, yet I can't get the thought out of my mind.
At the end of the day, you are just doing the things you need to do, that need to get done whether you're sick or not. I'm just mentally preparing myself for the favor I'll be requested to provide if I'm seen in public.
