Calgary police say two men are facing charges after approximately $70,000 worth of drugs, 11 firearms, several rounds of ammunition and cash were seized as part of a two-month investigation into a man who was not abiding by his bail conditions.

On Tuesday, March 18, police executed search warrants at four residences located in northeast Calgary and Airdrie. Police also searched four vehicles believed to be connected to the suspects.

In January, the Calgary Police Service’s Gun Violence Enforcement Team was made aware of a man who was believed to be breaching his court-imposed conditions by being in possession of firearms and conducting activity consistent with drug trafficking.

"This was a co-ordinated effort involving several units from across the Service and with our partners at the RCMP to target ongoing drug trafficking activity in Calgary," Acting Staff Sgt. Jim Dalidowicz of the CPS Organized Crime and Offender Management Section said in a news release.

"Several search warrants were executed as part of this investigation, and as a result, we were able to take 11 firearms off our streets and seize $70,000 worth of dangerous drugs to ensure they are not consumed by Calgarians," he said.
