Susan Wyllie and Basil “Bas” Baird are visiting Moose Jaw from Edinburgh, Scotland to support their friends on Team Scotland — the top seed coming into the tournament, skipped by Bruce Mouat.

“It’s been really good!” Wyllie said when asked about the tournament and Moose Jaw. “Yeah, we’ve been enjoying it.”

“Weather’s a bit chilly, but there you go,” Baird chipped in. “It’s Canada! It can’t help itself.

“No, but enjoying the atmosphere, and the good stadium. It’s ideal for the curling. And it’s easy to get round Moose Jaw, we’re at the Park Hotel and it’s right central. For me, that’s fantastic — seven-minute walk anywhere.”

“The city is lovely,” Wyllie added. “As we said, we can walk anywhere, we’ve had some really nice meals. We went to see the Tunnels this morning, so that was really good.

“Yeah, it’s great, it’s a nice size of town.”

Team Scotland, consisting of skip Bruce Mouat, third Grant Hardie, second Bobby Lammie, and lead Hammy McMillan, came into the championship as the number 1 ranked team in the world.
As of Wednesday morning, they are in a logjam of three teams at 5-2 along with Switzerland and Sweden.

Scotland’s two losses came to Switzerland on Wednesday morning and Czechia on Monday night. One of the key games for Scotland during the round robin was against Canada on Monday afternoon, and it did not disappoint. After forcing Canada into a difficult shot to tie the game, Scotland picked up a 6-5 win in an extra end to hand Canada their only loss so far.
