Break and Enter
On April 3rd at 12:58AM an alarm company reports a burglary alarm at a business in the 700 block of 10th Street. The front door glass was broken and the culprit entered the store, stole the cash float and fled. Video footage was obtained. The suspect wore a black mask, black jacket, grey pants and was in possession of a hammer. This incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact BPS at 729-2345.
Arrest Warrants
On April 2nd an officer initiated a persons check in the 1200 block of 9th Street. A 26-year-old female was arrested on the strength of two endorsed Warrants for Arrest (Failure to Attend Prints and Failure to Comply Probation). She was taken to Brandon Police Service (BPS) where prints were completed. She was then released via Appearance Notice with a court date of May 1st, 2025.
On April 2nd a BPS member attended Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC) to execute a warrant on behalf of Probation Services. (Forgery). A court date is set for April 3rd, 2025.
On April 2nd two males, ages 46 and 13, each turned themselves in to BPS on their endorsed Warrants for Arrest. They were released on Appearance Notices with court dates. (46-year-old – June 12th, 2025. 13-year-old – May 6th, 2025).
On April 3rd at 4:40AM a traffic stop was conducted in the 1000 block of 9th Street. The passenger in the vehicle was identified and found to have an endorsed Warrant for Arrest (Theft Under $5000). The warrant was executed, and the 43-year-old male was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of April 28th, 2025.
Fraudulently Obtain Transportation / Resist Arrest
On April 2nd at 1:52PM a police officer was flagged down while patrolling near the 200 block of 8th Street by a Taxi driver who stated a female had failed to pay her fare. The 46-year-old female was arrested after resisting officer instructions and arrest. She was later released on an Undertaking with a court date of May 29th, 2025.
Breach of Peace
On April 2nd at 10:30PM police were called to a disturbance at a residence in Cornell Bay. An intoxicated 21-year-old female was causing issues in the home and the family requested her removal. She was arrested, medically cleared, and held in BPS detention cells to prevent further issues. She will be released once sober.
Breach of Release Order X2
On April 3rd at 12:43AM police attended a residence in the 2500 block of McDonald Avenue where there was an unknown male with a knife. The 35-year-old male on location at the residence was found to be in breach of his release orders – No contact and not to attend the address. He was arrested, held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on April 3rd, 2025.
Failure to Comply Release Order (Curfew)
On April 3rd at 3:49AM a traffic stop was conducted in the 300 block of 1st Street North. The passenger in the vehicle was identified and found to have a curfew of 10:00PM – 6:00AM. The 32-year-old male was arrested, held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on April 3rd, 2025.
