For Strathmore and Chestermere residents who commute into Calgary for work, photo radar locations have been released.
According to Calgary police, radar will be set up in the communities of Albert Park/Radisson Heights, Bridlewood, Capitol Hill, Collingwood, Dover, Forest Lawn, Highland Park, Hillhurst, Marlborough, Panorama, Rundle, Skyview Ranch, Sunalta, Taradale, Temple, Varsity and Whitehorn.
Police said in a release that photo radar will also be in place at construction zones when crews are working.
"As well as photo radar, there are 52 Intersection Safety Camera (ISC) locations throughout the city that are capable of capturing red light infractions," said police in the release.
Officers say the cameras help reduce collisions and ensure safer driving at intersections.
Speeding fines for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h will require a court appearance.
"These drivers not only put themselves in danger, but they also endanger the lives of others," added police.
As of April 1, it was announced that photo radar will be reduced on numbered provincial highways and connectors.
"Photo radar will now be restricted to school, playground and construction zones. Intersection safety devices in Alberta will also be limited to red light enforcement only, ending the 'speed-on-green' ticketing function," the Alberta government said in a release.
