Police allege Singh was driving a semi-truck and trailer combination that struck a white 2019 Toyota Corolla in the southbound lanes of Stoney Trail N.W., near Nose Hill Drive, around 11:49 p.m. Tuesday. The truck left the scene, police said.
The Corolla was driven by a woman in her 50s. A roadway maintenance truck arrived shortly after the collision, and its two occupants began providing medical aid to the woman.
Moments later, police said, a black 2018 RAM truck — driven by a 21-year-old man with a passenger — collided with a post and cable barrier, struck the woman and hit the rear of the maintenance vehicle. The woman was transported to hospital but was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
Police said the semi-truck was located Wednesday in Rocky View County and identified as the vehicle involved in the original collision. The investigation was led by the Calgary Police Service Traffic Unit, with assistance from other CPS teams and members of the public.
