Just as it looked like the Ste. Anne Aces and Killarney Shamrocks would be heading to a game three, the Aces stepped up and found a way to tie the game late then win in overtime, capturing the championship.

There was a buzz in the Killarney arena as fans from both sides packed the stands.

They were treated to an incredible hockey game with both sides going back and forth, putting on a show.

Trailing 5-4 with seconds remaining, the Aces found the back of the net to tie the game 5-5, bringing the many supporters of the orange to their feet.

In overtime, the Aces controlled much of the play and had some great chances to close things out.

With close to 100 people watching on the live stream provided on the team's social media page, Stephane Pattyn scored the game winning goal, securing Ste. Anne's place as the best team in Manitoba, winning 6-5 in overtime and claiming the best-of-three series 2-0.

"I'm glad I kept the kids up late for it tonight, pretty cool thing for them to see," said Riesha Pattyn after watching Steph celebrate with teammates.

More coming up in the next few days with coach of the Aces, Kevin Lansard.
