Hundreds of people gathered at the Manitoba Legislature Sunday afternoon to rally for Canada.

"We love Canada," said Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew at the Rally. "We will always be the true north, strong and free, and we will never be the 51st state."

People donned red and white with painted maple leaves on their faces as the legislature transformed into a place for fun and celebration.

The rally featured food trucks, face painting, street hockey, bouncy castles, an obstacle course and musical performances by Fred Penner, DJ Mama Cutsworth and others.

Over 2,000 people attended the event.
