Two people are recovering after an altercation turned violent Friday afternoon.
Just after 3 p.m. on Friday, Winnipeg police say two separate groups were involved in an argument that eventually escalated to a point where a 19-year-old man and a 30-year-old man pulled out weapons and began assaulting one another.
The 30-year-old victim was located near Vaughan Street and The Promenade suffering from a stab wound to his upper body. Officers applied a chest seal until paramedics arrived. The 19-year-old was found a block over in the 400 block of Qu'Appelle Avenue, also suffering from a stab wound to his upper body.
Both of the men, who were unknown to each other before this incident, were taken to hospital in stable condition.
They are now both facing charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.
A third person, a 25-year-old man, is also facing a charge of possession of a weapon.
All three were released via Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
