A year-long investigation by the Drumheller RCMP General Investigation Section, in collaboration with several partner units, has resulted in charges against three individuals and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, firearms and cash.
Police say the investigation began in April 2024 and targeted individuals suspected of distributing illicit drugs in Drumheller and surrounding areas.
The investigation involved multiple RCMP units, including the Alberta Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, Red Deer ALERT and Strathmore RCMP General Investigation Section.
Officers executed multiple search warrants and seized suspected cocaine, psilocybin, LSD, firearms, cash and other items police say are related to drug trafficking.
As a result, Chase Huene, 38, of Starland County, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of proceeds of crime.
Robert Adeus Hamilton, 35, of Drumheller, has been charged with trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking psilocybin, and trafficking psilocybin.
Neil Lanos, 54, of Drumheller, has been charged with trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, and possession of proceeds of crime.
All three individuals have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Drumheller on April 11, 2025.
