The annual Wash-A-Thon is back this April at Suds Zone in Estevan, raising money in support of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation and its mission to bring an MRI machine to the community.
SUN 102 Morning Show host Daniel Espelien welcomed Lori Gervais, Executive Director of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, and David Dzeryk, owner of Suds Zone, to talk about this year’s fundraiser and the continued community support.
The MRI fundraising campaign recently passed the 80 per cent mark, with $6.5 million as the final goal. Over the past year, donations have poured in from across Estevan and surrounding rural municipalities, showing strong regional support for improved diagnostic services in the southeast.
The Wash-A-Thon is running all month long, with a portion of every car wash at Suds Zone going directly to the campaign. The fundraiser moved to April this year to take advantage of higher traffic during the spring.
Looking ahead, the Radiothon for Life in Support of the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation will take place on Wednesday, May 21, with a full day of live broadcasting from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
