The career learning framework of  Rocky View Schools (RVS) is helping build future-ready students.

As part of its work to build future-ready students, RVS has developed a framework to guide career learning in the division.

According to RVS, using this approach, staff support students as they explore a broad spectrum of careers, facilitate opportunities for students to engage with community partners with career expertise and experience authentic, hands-on, career-integrated activities.

"This framework provides opportunities for students to benefit from real-world experiences and make informed decisions as they choose their next steps after school."

The framework was established in January and has already resulted in career-related activities, crucial relationships, resources, and opportunities that help the division develop future-ready students, shared RVS.

Resources, information and opportunities are available on the Career Learning section of the RVS’ website.

RVS Board of trustees recently approved revisions to an Election Boundary Bylaw that provided more precision in the boundaries between rural and urban ward boundaries or where wards border First Nation lands.

"The bylaw was previously adopted on Nov. 14, 2024, adjusting several existing wards throughout the division for the October 2025 trustee election."

Earlier this week, Rocky View Schools announced that they have appointed Jeff Smith as its new Associate Superintendent of Schools, effective Aug. 1.

Smith brings more than 27 years of experience in Kindergarten to Grade 12 education, including 17 years with RVS. He has held several leadership roles in schools and within the division’s Education Centre.

Smith most recently served as Director of Human Resources and Wellness and stepped in as Acting Associate Superintendent of Human Resources when required. He joined RVS as an off-campus coordinator and teacher at Cochrane High School and has held leadership positions in multiple schools since.
