On April 3, Rocky View County (RVC) held an open house at the Madden Community Hall to hear what Madden and area residents think the new fire hall should contain.

Ken Hubbard, Fire Chief of Rocky View County, shared that it was nice to meet with over 50 community members.

"We had some sideboards that gave some ideas of what the fire station presently provides to the residents in that area and allowed residents to provide any other feedback."

He went on to talk about the top three items RVC heard from residents.

"Residents and citizens in the area wanted to make sure the service didn't change, and to make sure that the station stayed in the location that was the key to the community."

Hubbards shared that the next step is to put together a report and take it back to the county council.

"We will be looking to start construction in 2026 and have a station open in 2027."

He concluded by thanking everybody who attended the open house and shared their opinions.

"This project supports the safety of both our residents and the volunteer firefighters in that area. The planning for this facility will help provide improved training, space, equipment, storage and safety infrastructure to ensure the team is well equipped to respond effectively into the future."

If you were unable to make it to the open house, you are able to share your thoughts through a survey, which you can do by clicking HERE.

To ensure the station meets the needs of the community, RVC is seeking community input on key aspects of the project.

  • Exterior features and interior features regarding the Madden Fire Station.
  • Possible site locations for the station.
  • Community satisfaction levels and priorities for fire services in the area.

The survey is open until 4 p.m. tomorrow.
