The Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SADCRU) is investigating a string of break-ins across southern Alberta.

Police say they happened between April 6 and April 9, with the suspects targeting convenience stores, gas stations, cannabis shops, vape stores, liquor stores, grocery stores, and sporting goods stores.

SADCRU is asking property and business owners to be aware of the crime series and to take extra precautions, such as storing cash off site and making sure security systems are working.

The most recent break-in happened at Bassano Family Foods in the early hours of April 9. The front door glass was smashed before three suspects entered the building. They were last seen driving a white Ford F350 or Chevrolet 3500 flat deck truck with a wooden box.

The suspects are described as:

  • Suspect One: average build, face covered, wearing black hooded sweater, black pants and white belt
  • Suspect Two: thin build, face covered, wearing light coloured hoody with black coloured shoulders
  • Suspect Three: thin build, face covered with red bandana, dark blue jacket, black track pants

Police say that most of the break-ins involve the suspects stealing cash, cigarettes, and scratch tickets.

"Various vehicles have been used throughout the course of the break and enters," wrote RCMP.

Anyone with information on the break ins can contact their local police detachment.
