High Prairie RCMP issues tickets for speeds exceeding the limit by over 100km/h

On April 8, 2025, High Prairie RCMP were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 2 in Big Lakes County, Alta. A vehicle was locked on Laser at 206 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. The driver was given a mandatory court date for exceeding the maximum highway speed limit, along with driving carelessly.

Further to the Alberta RCMP’s release regarding slowing down this spring, the Alberta RCMP reminds the public that there is no excuse for speeding, whether it’s being late to work or testing out a new car on an empty stretch of highway.
