An ever-popular yearly event will be taking place this Saturday at the Weyburn Agricultural Society’s Exhibition Hall.
“It’s the annual Fred Garner Memorial Banquet and fundraising event,” explained Dale Paslawski with the Weyburn Wildlife Federation. The banquet, which is more commonly known for the presentation of awards for the largest deer of the season, or the biggest fish, among other things, is also a social event.
“We have a live auction, we have silent auction items, we’ve got raffle tables, we’ve got Angelo and his McKenna crew coming over to cater the meal,” described Paslawski.
Tickets for the event, if any are still available, can be purchased through the Weyburn Wildlife Federation by calling Terra at (306) 861-8235 or Larry at (306) 861-2344. The event is the largest fundraiser of the year for the WWF. Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for those 12 and under.
