Students at Chestermere High School's fine arts academy are in the final stretch of rehearsing for their annual spring musical.
A production of Grease will be coming to the city in late May, with students from all across the school helping with the production.
"With my class, they're responsible for doing all of the stage acting, and I let the students orchestrate their own choreography as well," said drama teacher Christine Fulthorpe.

The fine arts academy was created by Fulthorpe and fellow teacher Jessica Ploughman three years ago. The program covers performing arts, pit band, and technical theatre.
"The technical theatre class has quite a difficult task designing sets because there are so many different scenes," added Fulthorpe. "There's a track scene, two different bedrooms, the diner. The class has been working hard to bring everything to life."
The show takes place at Chestermere High on:
- Tuesday, May 27 – 7:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, May 28 – 7:00 p.m.
- Thursday, May 29 – 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, May 31 – 3:00 p.m.
- Saturday, May 31 – 7:00 p.m.
One of the performers, Grade 12 student Natalia Davis, called the school's fine arts academy "one of the most welcoming communities a person can be a part of."
"Other programs at the school are also connected with the academy," wrote Ben Sherick, communications officer with Rocky View Schools. "Costumes are designed by fashion students, and cosmetology students provide theatrical makeup."
Tickets will be available through a third-party website in the coming weeks, with the school also selling tickets at the door.
