There will be a large-scale, multi-agency training event hosted by Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the NWP parking lot, south of the STARS air ambulance landing pad near the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.
This scheduled training exercise brings together more than 100 participants, including NWP students, volunteer actors, and emergency personnel from:
- Advanced Paramedic Ltd.
- Alberta Health Services Emergency Medical Services (AHS EMS)
- Grande Prairie Fire Department
- Grande Prairie Police Service
- STARS air ambulance
- RCMP
- Northwestern Polytechnic
The hands-on simulation is designed to help nursing and paramedic students, alongside local first responders, enhance skills, build cross-agency coordination, and improve real-world emergency outcomes.
Important to Note: This is a training event. The public may see or hear emergency vehicles, helicopters, loud noises, or simulated casualties. There is no actual emergency.
