To help meet the costs of running a senior hockey club, the Leroy Braves are currently holding an online auction.
All the proceeds will go towards the Braves hockey team.
Board member Bryce Moore says there are plenty of expenses that the team are responsible for.
“Running any kind of organization now, seems like costs are going up in, in senior hockey, no, no exception. You know fuel vans for the guys to come out of the city. Referee fees, league fees, everything's everything seems to be going up and this is just a way for us to try and raise some money.”
Auction items were donated to the team. Moore said the items were originally donated to them for their comedy night featuring Kelly Taylor, but the support was overwhelming.
“When some of the items started coming in, we realized like these are some big-ticket items from some great local sponsors. So, we thought rather than just have a small subset of people at the comedy night bid on it, we may as well open it up to the public with an online auction.
The auction will close tomorrow (Wednesday, April 16) at 6:00 pm. There’s a wide range of items, whether it’s agricultural, golfing, fishing trips, sports memorabilia and more.
