The Kindersley Jr. Klippers are keeping busy to begin the offseason. After adding a goaltender to their system last week, the Klippers focused stayed on keeping pucks out of the net with the addition of towering defenseman Jordan Lafleur from Alberta.

The 2007 born Lafleur has played his entire hockey career in the Calgary Northstars organization, set for come to Kindersley after graduating from the U18 AAA team this past season. Lafleur had three goals and 17 assists in 34 games played for the Northstars this past season, also picking up a playoff assist in two games played.

Losing two six footers on the top pair going into next season, the 6'3 Lafleur will help recoup some of the Klippers size headed into next season. The Klippers expect him to make an immediate impact next season.

“We are very happy to add Jordan to our group for next season." said assistant GM Ryan Gibson. "He is a long and mobile defender who has the ability to contribute at both ends of the ice in junior hockey. He battled through some injury issues this year in U18 but came back and finished the season strong. We’re very excited to see Jordan in Klippers colors come next fall!”

Lafleur was able to dip his toe in for some junior experience with the Drayton Valley Thunder this season as well, going pointless in one game.

SJHL Playoffs

The SJHL playoffs are into the final round after an overtime finish in Weyburn on Tuesday night.

The hometown Red Wings sent fans home happy from Crescent Point Place with a 3-2 win over the Flin Flon Bombers. With the win, Weyburn will meet the Melfort Mustangs in the Canterra Seeds Cup final beginning Saturday, the Mustangs coming off a series sweep against Yorkton.
