Young hockey players from around the region have been on the ice in different capacities to start April. A continuation of the Sask First program is now coinciding with spring hockey seasons instead of regular seasons and playoffs, as the 12-month rat race of kid's hockey rages on.

Spring Hockey
Many younger players are already on the ice with their spring teams.
Players who cracked a roster have quickly changed from their club hockey colours to whatever spring club they made, like the Sask West Wheat Kings 2016 team taking the ice against the Lloydminster Bobcats travel team last weekend.

The Sask West Wheat Kings were at the Epic Ice Melt Hockey tournament on the weekend.
The 2017 Wheat Kings went a perfect 6-0, dominating for a total score of 74-17 over the weekend. The 2016's went 3-2 looking at their weekend schedule, and the 2012 team finished with four straight losses after an opening game win.
