Workers are asking drivers to slow down northbound on the QE II and watch for workers heading over the Sheep River Bridge by Aldersyde.

Volker Stevin, who manages most Alberta highways, is working on the bridge as it's reduced to one lane.

The right-hand lane is closed to traffic, and Trevor Breen, the Project Manager, said there was an incident this morning.

"We need people to slow down. We already had one incident this morning where a truck struck some of our traffic control barriers. People just need to slow down, but it's going to be there for the next three months."

Breen said no one was hurt, but they very well could have been, as the truck that hit the barriers was a semi-truck trying to merge from the slow lane to the fast lane.
