The Montreal Canadiens clinched a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 4-2 win over Carolina last night. The Habs will play Washington in the first round. The Winnipeg Jets needed overtime to beat the Ducks 2-1. Edmonton shutout the Sharks 3-0 and the Vancouver Canucks lost their final game of the season 4-1 to the Golden Knights.
The regular season finishes with a handful of games tonight and the playoffs being Saturday with two games - Winnipeg will host St. Louis while Dallas opens up at home to the Colorado Avalanche.
The Medicine Hat Tigers took a commanding 3 games to none lead in their WHL Eastern Conference semi-final with a 6-1 win over the Raiders in Prince Albert. Meanwhile, the Calgary Hitmen beat Lethbridge 3-2 in OT. That series is tied at two wins apiece.
The Saskatchewan Rush will finish off their National Lacrosse League regular season at home to the Ottawa Black Bears Saturday night. The 12 and 5 Rush have clinched a playoff spot.
