The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Canterra Seeds Cup final begins Saturday in Melfort, where the defending champion Mustangs take on the Weyburn Red Wings, back in the championship final for the first time since 2012.

Mustangs' forward and Kerrobert native Austin Shepherd is one player that will be looking to set the tone each night out, the team's "Crunch Award" winner for most hits on the team this past season, and staple on the teams bottom six.

The series starts with Game 1 Saturday night in Melfort from the Northern Lights Palace Arena, Game 2 being played Sunday. After a two-day break the series will resume in Weyburn April 23 for Game 3, and April 24 for Game 4.

If necessary, Game 5 would return the series to Melfort that Sunday, a possible Game 6 back in Weyburn on April 30, and then if needed, Game 7 would be played Saturday, May 3 to officially put an end to the SJHL season.
