Dangerous Driving / Assault with a Weapon
On April 19, 2025, shortly before 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of an altercation near the 2200 block of Rosser Ave. The investigation revealed that a 53-old-female intentionally drove a vehicle on a sidewalk which resulted in striking a pedestrian. The pedestrian was not injured. A 16-year-old male passenger in the vehicle shot at another individual with a BB gun. Police stopped the vehicle nearby and arrested the occupants.
A 16-year-old male was lodged to appear in court on charges of Possess Weapon X2 and Assault with a Weapon X2.
A 51-year-old female was arrested for Assault with a Weapon, Dangerous Driving, Possess Weapon, And Party to the Offence of Assault with a Weapon.
A 16-year-old male was arrested for Possess Weapon Dangerous and Carry Concealed Weapon.
Impaired Driving / Assault with a Weapon
On April 19, 2025, shortly after 8:00 am, police received a report of a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Rosser Ave. It was located in the 400 block of 12th street, and the 24-year-old female driver was arrested.
Investigation revealed that the suspect stole the vehicle from a friend and used it during an altercation, in which she attempted to pin a separate adult-female victim against a building with the vehicle and also attempted to assault her with a knife. Following her arrest, the suspect provided samples of her breath which were over the legal limit.
She was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired, Operation exceeding 80 mgs%, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Mischief Under $5000, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Assault with a Weapon X2 and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
A 23-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was also arrested for Fail to Comply with Release Order for having consumed alcohol.
Stolen Identification
On April 18, 2025, shortly after 11 am, police conducted a vehicle stop in the 1300 block of Van Horne Ave. An investigation into the driver and two passengers revealed the presence of unstamped tobacco, and the 43-year-old male driver provided a false name. The vehicle was seized, and members of the Major Crime Unit obtained a warrant to search, which resulted in the seizure of 30 separate pieces of identification belonging to 30 different individuals and a can of bear spray. The suspect was held in custody to appear in court on charges of Public Mischief, Possession of Unstamped Tobacco, Fail to Comply with Release Order and Possession of Identity Documents X30.
Retail Theft / Carry Concealed Weapon
On April 19, 2025, at approximately 10:00 am, police responded to a report of a male suspect shoplifting in a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave. When police located and arrested the 26-year-old male nearby, he was found to be in possession of a can of bear spray, a CO2 handgun, Meth, Cocaine as well as stolen merchandise from three other retail businesses.
The suspect was lodged to appear in court on charges of Possess Weapon Dangerous X2, Theft Under X2, Possess Property Obtained by Crime, Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth and Cocaine, Fail to Comply with Probation X5, and Fail to Comply with Firearms/Weapons Prohibition X5.
Assault with a Weapon
On April 19, 2025, at approximately 2:30 pm, police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence. Investigation revealed that the 21-year-old female suspect threatened to kill the victim and attempted to assault him with a knife.
She was arrested and will appear in court on May 22, 2025, on a charge of Utter Threats and Assault with a Weapon.
Recovered Stolen Bike
On April 19, 2025, shortly after 6:00 am, police came across a 33-year-old male in the 1300 block of Stickney Ave who was riding a bicycle, which had been reported stolen in November 2024. Following his arrest he was released to appear in court on June 16, 2025, on a charge of Possess Property Obtained by Crime.
IPDA
On April 19, 2025, shortly after 11:00 pm, while responding to an alarm, police located a highly intoxicated 47-year-old female. She was in no condition to care for herself and had nowhere to go. She was lodged until sober.
Arrest Warrants
From April 19 until the early hours of April 20, 2025, two adult males were arrested on outstanding warrants in separate incidents.
Possess Break-In Instruments
On April 20, 2025, shortly after 10:00 am, police responded to several reports of an individual who appeared to be checking vehicles in residential neighbourhoods on the north hill close to the Sportsplex. Witnesses report he was carrying a pry bar. The male was spotted heading west through various yards. Police located and arrested the suspect in front of a business in the 900 block of 18th street N. He was still in possession of the prybar. The 27-year-old male was released to appear in court on June 23, 2025, on a charge of Possess Break-in Instruments.
Breach of the Peace
On April 20, 2025, at approximately 10:30 am, police received a report of a fight in the 400 block of 14th street. A 19-year-old female was determined to be the cause of the issues. She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent the fighting from continuing.
On April 20, 2025, at approximately 5:00 am, a resident requested police remove an unwanted intoxicated female who was destroying their home and causing a disturbance. Police arrested and lodged the 19-year-old female and lodged her until she was sober.
Arrest Warrants
On April 20, 2025, five adults were arrested on outstanding arrest warrants in separate incidents.
