Rob Carnie – It's landfill season, and a reminder: rates have gone up and a reminder for all residents that we have to tarp our loads, right?

Maryse Carmichael – We have beautiful weather; we have a little bit of time, and yard waste is something that we're all eager to clean our backyards and front yards. So we need to remember to tarp our loads as you are on your way to the landfill.

We want to make sure that nothing blows away on the way to the landfill and make sure it makes it all makes it to the landfill.

Rob – And a continued reminder for residents that our landfill is almost full. So recycling is so important.

Maryse – Recycling is important. Some of the yard waste that might be able to be composted is another great idea, yeah. There are changes coming to recycling, we will make it more available for residents close to a city complex there on High Street. So that's more changes coming for all of you.

Rob – Also, Household Hazardous Waste Day is coming up May the 3rd. It's a chance for us to get rid of unused paint and other chemicals that could be hazardous to the environment.

Maryse – Absolutely, and this is a service we offer all our residents to ensure that you don't keep this hazardous waste at home, and you can bring it on May the 3rd at our City Complex, we will dispose of all this material according to the requirements for the special handling of hazardous waste.

Rob – And that is Saturday, May the 3rd.
