North District police arrested three men on drug-related charges following a traffic stop in the William Whyte neighbourhood late Saturday.
On April 20, 2025, at approximately 11:45 p.m., officers patrolling Selkirk Avenue halted a 2019 Dodge Ram travelling without headlights. During the stop, investigators reported discovering evidence of drug trafficking, leading to the arrests of three male occupants.
A search of the vehicle uncovered:

Approximately 1.3 grams of crack cocaine (estimated street value: $160).

Roughly 7.2 grams of purple fentanyl (estimated street value: $1,250).

Loose fentanyl pebbles.

Drug packaging materials.

An electronic scale.

Multiple cellphones.
A 38-year-old Portage la Prairie man is charged with:

Possession for trafficking (cocaine).

Possession for trafficking (fentanyl).

Failure to comply with a release order.
Another 40-year-old Portage la Prairie man and a 43-year-old Winnipeg man were charged with:
- Possession for trafficking (cocaine).
- Possession for trafficking (fentanyl).
Both were released on undertakings under the Criminal Code.
