Millions of Canadians flocked to their local polling stations when advance polls opened on Friday, April 18, and according to Elections Canada, estimates voter turnout eclipsed the numbers seen in 2021 by a wide margin.

The preliminary figures indicate 7.3 million electors cast their ballots during the four days that advance polls were open, up 25 per cent compared to the previous federal election in 2021 that saw 5.8 million advance votes cast.

A breakdown of estimated voter numbers in the advance polls by electoral district will soon be made available.

The 2025 Federal Election campaign wraps up next week, with Election Day being Monday, April 28, visit the Elections Canada website to find out where you can cast your ballot.
