For the first time in over 30 years, the Weyburn Wildlife Federation is hosting a gun and outdoor show this weekend at the Weyburn Agricultural Society building. Running from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Saturday and 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. on Sunday, there will be fun to have for all fans of the outdoors and for all ages. Troy Anderson, an organizer of the show with the Weyburn Wildlife Federation, comments on the exciting show this weekend.
“Our first gun show in over 30 years, we're doing everything, not just firearms, but we have some boats coming, some local quad dealers, some fishing stuff, some taxidermy. Our conservation officers are kind enough to bring their trailer that shows a bunch of the fish that we have in around in our area, some animals' taxidermy and it's just fun for the whole family.”
They will also how the local 4H club barbequing up some hotdogs and burgers with a canteen available at the event. They’re also selling memberships to the wildlife federation at the show and an Archery Club set up, so if anyone youth or adult is interested in archery they can find out more information and join their archery program. Anderson talks about the excitement and support surrounding an event that hasn’t been around for over 30 years.
“It's been overwhelming. I've had guys phoning me from a couple of hours away that are coming to our show. Around Weyburn, the buzz has been really good. People are just excited; said it’s been a long time so it's good to bring it back and hopefully we're successful and we can keep it going.”
The cost is $10 per day for adults and ages 12 and under are free to attend.
