Partners Rick Trachy and Odean Nistico opened the business in November 2024. Trachy is a 47-year veteran of the automotive repair trade. Joining him on the shop floor is longtime mechanic and friend Terry Franz, with 40 years of experience in the mechanical trade.
“Our research showed us that there weren’t many body shops here in the Blackfalds area, and we thought, you know, we’re going to give it a try,” says Nistico.
What started out as a “try” has become Blackfalds’ newest trusted automotive and collision centre, offering full collision service, restoration, bodywork, paint, mechanical repairs, minor front ends, brakes, wheel alignments, tire installs, balancing, and frame repair.
“We have a full frame rack,” Trachy explains. “From what I hear, all those guys with lifted trucks? I’m the only one that will pull a frame on them.”
He notes that Blackfalds Automotive & Collision Centre is essentially a one-stop-shop for automotive repairs and bodywork.
“We also do salvage, out-of-province inspections, and insurance inspections,” continues Trachy. “Not a lot of people know this, but after a collision, you can choose where you bring your vehicle for body work. It's not up to the insurance company. They cannot tell you where you have to go. You decide. It is your choice. That is the law.”
