As of 9:42 p.m., incumbent Conservative candidate Blaine Calkins was leading Ponoka—Didsbury riding with 35,001 votes (82.4 per cent) and 165 of 216 of the polling stations reporting. It is projected that Calkins will win the riding. 

Polls closed at 7:30 p.m., and preliminary results will be updated throughout the evening.

A little before 8:30 (MST), The Canadian Press decision desk projects that the Liberal Party of Canada under Mark Carney will form the next government. 

"Whether that's a minority or majority government is still to be seen," the Canadian press noted.
