The Montreal Canadiens are out of the NHL playoffs. They fell to the Washington Capitals 4–1 last night in Game Five of their first-round series. Washington will take on the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round.

The Winnipeg Jets secured a 5–3 victory over the St. Louis Blues last night, earning them a 3–2 lead in their opening-round playoff series.

The Florida Panthers advanced to the second round of the playoffs, doubling up on the Tampa Bay Lightning 6–3 last night. They defeated their state rival in five games.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Blue Jays earned a narrow 7–6 win over the visiting Boston Red Sox last night. The third game in that series kicks off this evening.

In South Sask Lacrosse League action, the U11 Moose Jaw Mustangs Red were defeated by the Regina Chaos Green 2–15, and the Weyburn Thrashers delivered a 6–2 decision to the U13 Moose Jaw Mustangs.
