Tails To Tell Animal Rescue in Crossfield is hosting a fundraising event on Sunday that will see their founder shave their head.
On Sunday from 12-2 p.m., Edna Jackson will shave her head in hopes of raising $1000 for the rescue.
Colleen Holden, board chair for the rescue, shared that she is quite shocked that Jackson wants to do it, but it shows how much she loves the rescue.
"She founded the shelter in 2010 and is still an avid supporter. She thought if she had her head shaved, people would come out, and I hope they do and support her."
According to Holden, Jackson is the shelter's hero and has been their mentor for so many years.
"She still attends all our functions. She's what Tales To Tell is all about."
The funds raised will be used to maintain the shelter and provide the supplies needed to take care of the cats.
If you would like to donate, funds can be sent by e-transfer to payments@tailstotell.ca. Make sure to include Jackson in the Message line so the shelter can track Edna's goal.
Holden hopes she will see plenty of residents come visit the shelter during the event to see what they are all about and to see the cats they currently have.
Since the start of April, Tails To Tell has been the location where all of the lost or found cats in Airdrie would go, Holden explained that they have seen several cats make their way to the shelter from the city.
"We have taken in many cats from the city of Airdrie. We've returned a few, which is a bit disappointing, because we know these are all friendly cats, so they belong to someone."
She concluded by thanking those who plan on donating to the fundraiser and those who have already.
