Sports Round-Up: Friday, May 2

The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Ottawa Senators last night 4–2, securing a win in their first-round playoff series. They'll face the Florida Panthers in the second round.

The Vegas Golden Knights also advanced to the second round, having defeated the Minnesota Wild in Game Six, 3–2.

The Edmonton Oilers punched their ticket to the second round, winning 6–4 last night, and four straight in their series against the LA Kings. They'll play the Golden Knights next.

And the Colorado Avalanche are still in the fight, staving off elimination at the hands of the Stars with a 7–4 win in Game 6. They're back in action tomorrow.

The Toronto Blue Jays were victorious against the Boston Red Sox last night, going 4–2 in the final game of that series.

The Jays go on to host the Cleveland Guardians in a three-game weekend set, starting this evening.

And the Saskatchewan Rush have made it to the National Lacrosse League semifinals. Their best-of-three against the Thunderbirds kicks off tomorrow afternoon in Halifax.
