Winnipeg police investigate fatal weekend stabbing on Waterfront Drive

Winnipeg police are asking for the public's assistance in solving the city's latest homicide. 

On Sunday, May 4, at around 1:45 a.m., officers were called to the 500 block of Waterfront Drive for the report of a stabbing. 

When they arrived, they located a man suffering from stab wounds. Officers applied chest seals while they waited for paramedics to arrive. 

The victim, who has been identified as 43-year-old Kerry Eastman, was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he later died of his injuries. 

Eastman is a member of Sandy Bay First Nation but was living in Winnipeg.
