The 4th annual High River Royal Canadian Legion's Show and Shine went off without a hitch Sunday. Well, besides the weather, that is.

The chilly temperatures kept some people away during the 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. event, but it sure didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the car lovers and owners.

Legion member and owner of a Ford Mustang, Don Horn, said at the start of the event yesterday, they were expecting a few dozen vehicles rolling in.

"Right now, we're at 32, and I understand a few more just pulled in, so probably close to 35 to 40."

While the weather hurt the turnout, the event continues to grow with lots of local support from businesses.

"Yes, we have a whole list of sponsors from local businesses here, plus Costco from Okotoks sponsorship this year too. So, yes, lots of sponsors."

The High River sponsors include Foothills Signs, Highwood Golf, Tim Horton's, Blue Spruce Auto Parts, Total Auto Care, Sobeys, Seven Seas, CanAlta Hotels, Home Hardware, Foothills Meats, Century 21 Foothills Realty, and Scentsy Kathy Geleta.

The homemade burger with potato salad, along with a bag of chips and a pop for only $10, was a huge hit this year.

They also held a 50/50 draw and raffled off a BBQ.

The 2025 President's Choice Awards were also handed out.

Horn and the rest of the Legion members and car enthusiasts are already looking forward to next year's 5th annual.
