The smell of baseball and softball is in the air around west-central Saskatchewan.

A 18U ball game took place at Berard Field in Kindersley, first pitch coming as practices were taking place nearby at Elizabeth School and all-around town to begin the week.

Joining the fun Monday night in Eatonia the 13U Wheatkings continued their season with a game against Kindersley, Eatonia coming off a game against Fox Valley on Sunday afternoon.

The Wheatkings ball program were the subjects for last week's OSY Rentals Ball Report. Their busy start, that included additional training before the season for baseballers and softballers, is an encouraging sign.
