William Nylander had two goals and an assist last night as the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers 5-4 in Game 1 of their second-round series. Game 2 is Wednesday in Toronto.

The NHL Draft Lottery was also held last night to determine the first 16 picks in the June draft. The New York Islanders vaulted over nine teams to win the top pick. It's the first time the Islanders have had the first overall pick since 2009.

In local minor baseball action, the Moose Jaw U15 AAA Canucks and the Regina White Sox played to a 7-7 tie last night.

And finally, in Major League Baseball, the Toronto Blue Jays were off last night, but begin a three-game road set against the Los Angeles Angels tonight.
