Those travelling to Airdrie from Calgary could have expected major delays around rush hour.
A multi-vehicle collision northbound on Deerfoot Trail just north of the Country Hills Boulevard exit was causing major delays, but has since been cleared.
Two right-hand lanes were closed. Reports said one vehicle was on its side.
Crews are no longer on the scene.
