Simkin Centre celebrates eight centenarians in heartwarming party

This week, the Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre hosted a heartwarming celebration to honour eight remarkable centenarians.

The 200-bed personal care home in south Winnipeg celebrated the lives of eight centenarians on Tuesday with a once-in-a-lifetime party.

"Reaching the milestone of 100 years is a momentous achievement, and we are excited to celebrate these incredible individuals who have witnessed history, shared their wisdom, and contributed so much to our community," said Laurie Cerqueti, CEO of the Simkin Centre.

Friends, family and staff shared stories, heartwarming tributes and cherished memories. The centenarians were also presented with certificates to mark the momentous occasion.

"Their stories, wisdom, and resilience inspire us all," said the Simkin Centre in a post on Facebook. "What a joy to gather as a community and celebrate a century of life and legacy."

The event ended with cake and a toast to the celebrants.
