As expected, the Regina Pats took hometown boy Maddox Schultz when they chose first in the WHL Prospects Draft yesterday. Schultz led the Regina Pat Canadians to a Telus Cup championship this season.
The Moose Jaw Warriors used their first-round pick, 18th overall, to get centreman Kash Elke. He's from Lanigan and played last season with the Humboldt Broncos U-15 double "A" hockey club. He had 66 points in 29 games this season.
The Warriors also made a trade yesterday, sending Max Finley, Ryder Ellis, and a 4th-round pick to the Victoria Royals in exchange for Mathieu Lajoie and a couple of draft picks.

The Dallas Stars downed the Jets in Winnipeg 3-2 last night in game one of their 2nd round Stanley Cup playoff series.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are up two-games-to-none on the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. The Leafs were 4-3 winners last night.
The LA Angels came from behind in the bottom of the 9th and beat the Blue Jays 5-4.
And, in South Sask Lacrosse League action last night, the U-17 Moose Jaw Mustangs whipped Regina Chaos Green 11-3 and in U-15 action, Regina Chaos Green beat Moose Jaw 10-5.
