The women of Gretna gathered last week Tuesday to support other women across the Pembina Valley.
About 60 ladies met up at the Gretna Prairie Centre to enjoy delicious desserts and hear from local life coach, Anita Froese, the author of The Struggle is Real. There was also a silent auction, with half of the nights' proceeds committed to Genesis House.

In all, just over $1,000 was raised and, after paying for a few expenses, $450 will be going to the Winkler-based women's shelter.
"We were trying to find something that we all felt passionate about and, let's be honest, we all know someone who has been affected by mental or physical abuse and needs help," explained spokesperson, Justina Bueckert, when asked why they chose to support this particular organization.
Bueckert extended a big 'thank you' to all of the volunteers for their hard work in making the dessert night a success.
