Airdrie fire crews responded to a grass fire on Edmonton Trail in front of the Cam Clark Superstore Thursday evening.
An eyewitness told DiscoverAirdrie they first saw smoke around 6:45 p.m. and observed the fire grow in intensity. They said there were no vehicles or individuals nearby and noted that multiple 9-1-1 calls had already been made when they called.
Airdrie remains under a fire advisory. Rocky View County is currently under a fire ban.
Regional and municipal fire crews have responded to several grass fires recently, including one over the weekend in Rocky View County. Calgary fire crews have also dealt with multiple grass fires over the past week.
