There is only two days left at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championship tournament going on in Kamloops, BC. Friday marks the semi-final round for both male and female play, and Team Saskatchewan has both teams still alive.

The preliminary round games were played Monday through Thursday. The boys went 3-1-1 in the round robin to finish the third, while the girls team went 2-2-1 to also finish third.

The male semi-final will go first as Team Saskatchewan faces off against Team Manitoba. The teams met in the first game of the tournament with Manitoba taking a 5-3 win.

Starting fifteen minutes after the male semis, the second female semi-final features Team Saskatchewan also taking on Team Manitoba. Their matchup in the preliminary round didn't solve anything as the two sides played to a tight 1-1 tie.

The male semi-final winners will face either Alberta or Ontario for gold on Saturday, the losers playing in the bronze medal game before. Same goes for the female bracket with BC and Ontario each seeking a spot in the gold medal match.

The female team has U15 Western Prairie Thunder teammates Hayden Hilbig (Kindersley, Metis) and Berkley Wuttunee (Kerrobert, Red Pheasant First Nation), and Kaylee Williams (Kyle, Muskoday First Nation) as a returning player.

The male roster features Kerrobert native and Red Pheasant First Nation member Tyson Wuttunee as an assistant coach, guiding the likes of Kindersley Jr. Klippers defenseman Jaxon Herchak (Waldheim) on the ice along with other great junior level talent.
