Alberta Parks officials have issued a bear warning for the Kananaskis Country Golf Course, including parking lots, the clubhouse, the maintenance compound, and other buildings.
"Multiple grizzly and black bears frequenting the area," the warning read online, which was issued May 8.
Officials added that the warning is in effect until further notice. They reminded the public that although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the Kananaskis Region at any time.
To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:
- Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
- Keep your pet on a leash.
- Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible, and know how to use bear spray.
Please report all bear sightings immediately to 403-591-7755.
