McHappy Day was a huge success last week not only nationally but also on a local level.
Last week on Thursday, McDonalds locations in Moose Jaw joined in McHappy Day by donating a portion of every food and drink purchase will go directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and other local children's charities.
The local beneficiary of $12,299.29 will be the play grounds at the new school on South Hill, Coteau Hills and Our Lady of Hope Schools. Any additional funds raised will be go to RMHC to build new Ronald McDonald Houses in Regina and Prince Albert.
In the past 30 years, McHappy Day has raised an astounding $100 million in support of children and families in communities across Canada. These funds have been vital in enabling RMHC to assist nearly half a million families with sick or injured children, ensuring they can stay close to their child during crucial medical treatments.
This year, $659,000 was raised in Saskatchewan, while $11.3 million was raised across Canada during McHappy Day.
Doug Dooley, the owner of McDonald's in Moose Jaw, wants to thank all the workers and visitors who contributed.
